Getting There

  • Flying provides multiple options with the closest being National Airport (DCA). The hotel is located very near the airport and a free shuttle service is provided every 20 minutes.

    • Arriving from Baltimore Washington International (BWI): Upon exiting the baggage claim area, follow signs for Amtrak/MARC and board shuttle bus to station. On weekdays MARC trains provide service between BWI station and Union Station in Washington. Every day, Amtrak trains provide regional service between BWI station and Union Station. From Union Station the hotel can be reached by Metro rail or a cab.

    • Arriving from Dulles International Airport (IAD): There is a direct Metro bus (time schedule) from Dulles to Rosslyn and back for $3 each way with drive time around 45 minutes. Once in Rosslyn, Crystal City is just 4 Metro rail stops away. Washington Flyer Coach Service also provides a bus link between Dulles Airport and the West Falls Church Metro rail station. Visit the Washington Flyer web site for more information.

  • Driving to the hotel is best done outside the usually difficult DC rush hour that often lasts from 4 to 8 pm.

    • From Richmond & I-95 North:
Take I-95 North to I-395. Take Exit 7A (Rt. 120/Glebe Road South). Stay on Glebe Road South approximately 1.5 miles, which terminates at Rt. 1 (Jefferson Davis Hwy). Turn left onto Rt.1 North (Jefferson Davis Hwy). Turn right at the next light (27th Street), hotel is on the left.

    • From Baltimore & I-95 South:
Take I-95 South over the Wilson Bridge into Virginia. Exit #177B (first exit off bridge), and follow signs to Rt. 1 North. Travel approximately 4 miles: when you see signs for Reagan National Airport get into the right hand lane. Turn right onto 27th street, hotel is on the left.
    • [LOCAL RESIDENT NOTE: Taking the beltway around the city driving in from the north is not the best. Use BW Parkway to Howard Road, turn right, hit 395 toward Richmond, then the first exit, Route 1, in Virginia.]

  • Arriving by train to the region is also an option through Amtrak which provides multiple daily runs through the city from destinations along the East Coast and elsewhere. Amtrak stops at Union Station and from Union Station the hotel can be reached by Metro rail or a cab.

Getting Around

  • The hotel is conveniently located a short walk from the Crystal City Metro station (Blue/Yellow line) which cheaply connects you to the whole D.C. metro area.

  • Cabs are also available to quickly get to your desired destination inside Washington, DC. All regional cabs will be on meters by the time of the conference.

Local Fun

Most of the main attractions of Washington, D.C. are just a short Metro ride away. If planning to visit just for the conference you should consider building in an extra day or two around it just to explore the Nation's Capital!

  • The National Mall: The National Mall is easy to get to by Metro and offers days upon days of free entertainment. Whether you want to visit the National Monuments or explore the many museums, it is one place worth visiting time and time again.

  • Arlington National Cemetery: The closest major tourist destination to the hotel is also one of the areas most moving. Acre after hilly acre of memorials to fallen heroes overlooking D.C. and the Pentagon is a site to behold.

  • Georgetown: Georgetown will entertain, especially the young crowd. Too many places to name. Just tell the cabbie to take you to M Street and Wisconsin NW, and walk around. The area does not have nearby metro access. Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle are also popular spots for nightlife.

  • Pentagon City: If you came to the conference to shop at a big mall, this is the place for you -- and it's close!

  • Sports: The new Nationals Stadium is located on the Blue Line of the metro. Follow it toward Benning Road from the Crystal City stop if you want to see a game. Or just get a cab. It would be fairly cheap. (5-6 miles)

Food & Drink

In addition to containing its own restaurants the hotel is in the heart of an urban area with many options easily accessible through walking. The Metro also connects to some of D.C.'s most well known and finest dining as well as bars.
